Forensics Still Sifting Through Caylee's Remains

Will we ever know who killed Caylee Anthony? Sure, we all believe it was her self-centered mom who would do anything to go out and party. But would she go so far as to kill her baby? All the circumstantial evidence points to her. She didn't report her daughter missing for more than a month, she had googled gruesome keywords such as how to make cloroform and other ways to kill.
But it the remains and the forensic evidence that we need to prove, once and for all, that she is the killer. It's so easy for us to say she did it - and even the circumstantial evidence is overwhelming - but the forensic proof is paramount.
So what is going on with the forensic evidence? A Sheriff’s Office spokesman said during a televised news conference that investigators are working very slowly and “deliberately” at the site near the Anthony family home where unidentified remains were found last week.
Capt. Angelo Nieves said the site will dictate how long they will remain — not the investigators.
Nieves said the investigators are sifting and labeling items that have been recovered, but he would not say what those items are.
When asked why investigators are taking such a long time — the remains were found Thursday morning — Nieves said, “They’re doing a meticulous job.”
Nieves said proper experts are being called including an anthropologist, entomologist and botanist.
The authorities are doing the right thing. There is no reason to make haste at this time. They need to do it right!
